This scanner is specifically designed for scanning and digitizing old photos, enhancing images, creating and organizing in photo albums, and tagging photos for easy searching. It works on both Mac and Windows operating systems.
You can scan various types of photos, including prints, Polaroids, and photo paper of different sizes and finishes.
The Photo Scanner can scan photos sizes: 1” x 1” to 8.5” x 11”. The Photo Scanner can also accommodate panoramic photos up to 12” long.
The scanner is specifically designed for scanning and preserving the integrity of old photos. It accommodates only one photo in the feed tray at a time. However, it features an auto-scan mode in its software, allowing users to continuously insert photos into the tray without needing to manually initiate each scan.
It is recommended to use the carrier sheet when scanning old fragile or torn photos. This will ensure the photo is scanned without causing damage. You also may find it useful when scanning photos with a high glossy finish. This will allow the photo to pass through the roller and options without an issues.
The Photo Scanner is specifically designed to scan and enhance photos, however can support documents. Documents can be exported as PDF, however at this time with limited other functionality.
PictureStudio can export images in PDF, JPEG, PNG and BMP file formats.
To activate and start using PictureStudio, you will need to plug you scanner into your computer when prompted during set up. Once the software is activated, you can use PictureStudio without keeping the scanner connected.
Yes, to scan both sides you can hit the three dots next to the scan button. Enable by selecting 2-sided scanning from this menu. After scanning the first side, you will be prompted to scan the second side. Simply flip the photo over and place back into the feed tray. An image of backside of the photo will be saved to the file and visible by selecting the information icon above the photo in the canvas. You can also enable and/or disable this feature from the Settings menu.
Yes, if you go to the trash icon, you have the option to select which photos you want to restore. Once the photos are selected, select the “Restore” button at the bottom right and all of the selected photos will return to their original locations. You will not have the ability to restore photos that were permanently deleted from trash.
On Windows, all of your photos are in a “PictureStudio” folder in your “Pictures” folder; On Mac, all of your photos can be found in Users/*user name*/Pictures/PictureStudio. In that folder, the photos in your inbox are in the “Inbox” folder, and all of the content in your albums are organized in the “Album” folder.
